About River Haven Counseling

River Haven Counseling was founded in 2021 by Emily Althoff who was seeking an opportunity that aligned with her young family’s needs, while continuing to work with the clients that meant so much to her. River Haven Counseling was named after River Haven Road, a symbol of what always felt like “home.” Over the years, this family-centered practice has grown into a well-rounded, multi-disciplinary team of clinicians who work with clients across the lifespan, providing individual, couples, and family therapy.

As a clinician at River Haven Counseling, you will be supported by a collaborative team and have the freedom to shape your caseload in line with your strengths and interests. If you have a background and are interested in serving individuals and/or couples in recovery from substance use – Even better!

  • Competitive, transparent compensation structure with earning potential that grows as your caseload grows, with no cap on earned commission. Past yearly earnings have ranged from $80,000 to $120,000.

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed mental health professional in North Dakota (e.g., LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, LP)
  • Additional licensure in substance use counseling (e.g., LMAC) is preferred, but not required
  • Commitment to family-centered, client-first care
  • Desire to grow professionally and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work independently with support from our administrative team
